Eyri Atelier

Art, Nature & Creative Experiences

Creative Playground

Eyri Atelier is a colorful studio where Ólöf, owner of Eyri farm, finds peace and joy amid the rhythm of everyday life. A graphic designer by profession, Ólöf ran the design and printing studio Reykjavík Letterpress for around 13 years.

The shed where the magic now happens was once raw and cold, serving an important role as a repair space for farm machinery and cars. When the decision was made to transform it into a creative playground, the exterior was insulated and clad, while the interior walls were intentionally left raw to reflect the building’s history. Windows were also added to invite natural light into the space.

The walls are lined with printed works collected over more than a decade, primarily from letterpress friends around the world. Ólöf is part of Letterpress Workers (LPW), an international community of printers and designers who meet annually in Milan to work, print, and share ideas over several days. It is Ólöf’s dream to invite members of this group to Eyri and host a workshop where guests can experience every stage of the printing process.

One of the upcoming projects is to develop natural inks and explore environmentally friendly printing methods, using raw materials sourced from the local environment. In this way, Eyri Atelier becomes a kind of experimental laboratory, where various “witches’ brews” are carefully created.

Guests are welcome to book a workshop visit or a customized course, where they can explore multiple printing techniques, create natural inks, and play with color and paper.
