Our Story

Where Farm Life Meets New Journeys

From Farm to New Beginnings

For decades, Eyri was a traditional working farm, home to cows, sheep, horses, and chickens. Sverrir’s maternal grandfather ran the farm, and from the ages of six to sixteen, Sverrir spent his summers here, learning the land by heart. He still recalls running after the cows, searching for them in Djúpugróf in rough weather, and wandering up Eyrafjall to look out over the fjord.

Farming has not been practiced at Eyri for some time. When the opportunity arose to buy the land, Sverrir and Ólöf embraced it as a meaningful challenge. They soon began shaping a new chapter for Eyri, restoring old buildings and creating a place where guests can experience the quiet, the landscape, and the sense of time slowing down.

Many of the original buildings have now been given new purpose, and while much remains to be done, Eyri continues to grow – guided by care, curiosity, and a deep connection to the land.

Eyri farm is a family-run place, built through shared effort and genuine enthusiasm for the future. Everyone involved looks forward to taking part in the ongoing development of the area, with the aim of making each guest’s stay as enjoyable, personal, and memorable as possible.

The story of Eyri continues, with a new chapter just beginning.
